LAKE CHARLES, La. (November 6, 2018)
On October 31, 2018, Doctors at Cardiovascular Specialists of Southwest Louisiana successfully implanted the first Watchman® left atrial appendage occlusion device, an alternative to
anti-coagulation (blood thinners) in patients with atrial-fibrillation. This new, one-time implant procedure could change the lives of many people with atrial-fibrillation. It has been proven to
reduce bleeding risk and the need for lifelong use of blood thinners for patients with atrial fibrillation.
